when you hose down an engine your supposed to cover at least some of the electrical stuff. Check your plugs and see if theres water in there.

I wish I would have know they were going to clean the engine. The Acura dealer usually gives a free wash which I was okay with, but I didn't know they were going to clean the engine compartment. It wasn't even very dirty.

I sure hope your ignition coil isn't dying... My dad took his car to a car wash and sprayed the engine bay only to have his coil croak.

Pull the distributor cap. If there is moisture in there it will cause problems.

Master Yodub ... it may have been you that gave me the wonderful idea to reset my ECU. That may have done the trick for my CEL problem and my idle issues. My problem sounds just like noteful's. See other thread for more info: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=176667

Yeah that's messed up about water in your engine bay. I detail myself so the first thing you suppose to do is cover up your distributor. Everything else you can spray whatever chemicals you're going to clean motor. Let sit a while. You can also clean your hood. Engine doesn't have to be running. Once you gunk your entire engine , spray off engine with a hose, pressure washer etc. You should then start engine rev on it few times then you can turn off engine. Use air blower to dry engine completely. After that you can remove plastic from dist. & dress engine formula 2001 or armor all etc. That'll give your motor that new look. I would change plugs, wires & dist. Be careful in future or clean your own engine to avvoid that from happening again. Gingas
