Default help, integra has a weird starting problem

I have a 95 LS 5 speed integra. I just put a brand new starter on it when I put my new tranny in. The last time I put a clutch and a flywheel it did the same thing. This time it didnt fix it self though. My problem is that I turn the key and the car wont start. I can jump the car using a wire off the starter terminal to the battery. I put my clutch relay in my friends car and his started right up. I pushed the wires around under the column to try to see if it was a loose wire, and I could possibly get it to work like that. That didnt work. So I got a wire from the key switch where it says start or whatever and held it there to the starter, turned the key and it started. I was pretty much just bypassing the clutch saftey switch. I checked the starter fuse (7.5 under the column). So that elimininates it being the starter, relay, fuse, and the key switch. Then I put a wire from the clutch saftey switch and just made a circuit out of it. Still no start. I cant figure it out. Sorry that was pretty long. Anyone got any ideas?

What happens when you turn the key but it wont start...does it try to crank, or nothing happens?

No, nothing happens. If I hook the wire up from the keyswitch to the starter, It starts right up.

It's probably your clutch switch. I had a similar problem with my car, occasionally it would start...sometimes I'd turn the key and nothing would happen...no click, no nothing. If it wasn't starting, I'd just let the clutch out a fraction and turn the key...would start right up. My problem went away all by itself over time.

I guess ill replace the clutch saftey switch. I thought it would make it work though. I just found it weird that after I pull the tranny it does this. Cant you hook up a wire into the plug that comes off of it and bypass it. I did that but it still didnt start. The factory service manual says to put a wire in the plug and push in the clutch and if theres continuity then its good. I havent tried it yet but well see. Does anyone know a way to bypass the clutch saftey switch. My next step is to get a test light and follow the wire till I find the problem. I would rather just test the saftey switch first though.

Check in the electronics forum or ask someone who has installed a remote start on a manual car...they have to bypass the clutch safety switch in order for the remote start to work.

Just park on a hill... take off your e-brake... start rolling... throw it into first... drop the clutch... and don't lock your knees... works everytime..
