I wouldn't hesitate to buy a B20-based motor if it were built by someone I trusted who knew my application. In the recent past there have definitely been some strong B20-based ITR running around.

It's hard to answer your question without personally knowing the builder and tuner.

That's what it's going to come down to...do you trust them?

Im building a similar engine at the moment. I really like the torque of the B20 Ive driven a car with a stock B20. a B18c is hands down a stronger base to begin with because of its substantial webbing and its ability to withstand hi RPM bec. of piston squirters, However, the price of a B18c isnt cheap to begin with. I think you could achieve similiar numbers if not more (N/A) with the B20. its 84mm bore is where it shines and its not at all expensive. All the good new Honda 4 banger motors are 2.0L anyways...

I'd say its probably safer to buy a Stock B18c5 and then do some boltons and some other mods to it
