The easiest way to make it run 14s without breaking the bank would be FI but if he has the money, more power to him if he wants to go N/A.

buy my motor
180whp/141lb-ft, N/A, Non-VTEC.

garunteed 14s for sure.

I'm aiming for the 250whp range now, so i've decided to start fresh.

i ran 14.9 with a 2.4 60' time.
I broke the passenger side shaft and bent both the intermediate and driver side shaft.

If i launch harder, I can get it down deep into the 14s for sure. But i just need to figure out a way to do that without breaking everything

Gingas,What are 404's.Yes it does depend on $$$ you have&willing to spend.N/A is more reliable &you will get more respect on&off the track.FI will produce more power but you'll have to dig deep in pockets.Nos will give you instant power but motor won't last long.I recommend if you want FI go purchase a Eclipse,EVO,WRX or something already Turbo'd and turn up the boost.I use to own a 90 Eclipse GSX&man it was a lot of fun at track launching at 5000rpm runing 14'9's stock.HP was rated 195hp at flywheel.I never broke anything.Just a suggestion buddy.Good luck!

vtech makes a pretty decent phone, or so i've heard....

your money is best spent on a shorter ratio tranny, a good clutch, some higher c/r pistons, crower 404 cams, and their recommended spring kit. then get it tuned. get a decent header and cat-back exhaust and you shouldnt have trouble hittin 14's like that.

Low 14's on an all motor LS is doable, but it's gonna cost you. If you get cams and valvesprings, you're going to need to upgrade the bottom end a little bit so you can rev it to 8k+ rpm, otherwise you're wasting your money. Ported and polished head, cam gears, intake manifold, throttle body, good header, high flow cat, decent exhaust, and some time on a dyno to tune it. Along with the clutch, I'd also get a lightweight flywheel...it helps out IMMENSELY. A short geared tranny like the ITR/B16 is great, but not if you're using the stock 6800 redline. On the freeway in 5th gear you're gonna be at a pretty high rpm. You could always get a B20 shortblock, and then do all the above mentioned things. It would definitely be torquey.

If it was me, I'd pick up a GSR or B16 (not first gen) head (complete with manifold/tb/ECU/distributor), a Golden Eagle LSVTEC conversion kit, ARP rod bolts, and start there. You'll be much closer to your goal of low 14's starting with an LSVTEC than an LS....probably in the high 14's to start if you can drive.

Actually, I'd just put it on the bottle like I did with my car, and call it a day.
