Default Upgrading R's exhaust

I'm planning on installing a JDM DC Sport header with a Carsound cat. I want to keep my cat back stock. What size flanges do I need? Or will the muffler shop not have a problem mating all this up? Does it matter what Carsound cat I use?

Okay, all I really need to know is can I mate the 2.5" carsound cat to the stock exhaust and still have it ready for future larger exhaust upgrades?

SMSP in Fredericksburg, VA sells a Carsound cat specifically designed to mate the OEM USDM exhaust to the OEM JDM header.

If he sells it, I'm sure other people do, too.

My wife has a HKS Oval Super Drager exhaust. From the back the muffler is visually huge, but it doesn't have a nasty loud rice sound to it. We had a stock ITR mid section with a LS muffler orignally and saw enormous gains throughout acceleration. We never had any dino runs, but she did turn a time three tenths faster, if that helps any.

Which models by those guys? The Mugen's nice and quiet, but I think it would be cheaper to get a domestically-made twin-loop exhaust that will have the same performance.

If you want a near-stock appearance with some gains, look at the RS*R ExMag... top notch exhaust I wish I got!

more or less, i want something somewhat quiet (that noise on the freeway can either hurt your ears, or put you to sleep), but not ricey sounding. i've heard all three of these (HKS, Mugen, Skunk2) don't sound ricey, and give decent gains for the money paid.

price is an option here, but if the other 2 are too noisy/ricey sounding i will go the extra $300 for Mugen. Anyone have any idea how Mugen's sounds? A sales rep from InlineFour.com told me that it sounds like stock, but slightly louder.

i'm not in a hurry to buy (i mean hell, i gotta wait to see what my credit card bill says for my christmas spending), but probably in the next month or so.

Ive just bought an itr, it has full mugen twin loop system(stock cat) with mugen manifold, Ive only driven 3 dc2s, 1 stock, 1 with dc sports header (stock cat) and custom made s/s cat back and my own and i have to say the mugen system just sounds beautiful, not loud just throaty and deep, I cant really comment on power differances as i only drove other two cars briefly, But as ive said my mugen definitely sounds best...

Ive read reviews bout mine and its all very good,
