comptech icebox?

Default comptech icebox?

what do you guys think of the comptech icebox intake? i dont really want the AEM cai because ive already had that on my civic and i dont really want anything flashy under my hood. anyone have any experiance with it? thanks.

edit: im getting an integra saturday and im going to start over on that.

Geez man, it was 20 friggin minutes. The comptech icebox is a good intake, but it's expensive. You have to buy the comptech air intake, and then buy the icebox setup. I made my own icebox using the stock airbox and my AEM intake.

thats what you have to do? how would you do that? is the icebox just an extension on the comptech intake?

The icebox is basically an airbox that surrounds the filter, with a tube extending into the fender to pick up cold air. It doesn't include the regular intake, which is the filter and intake tube going to the throttle body.

I just bought the icebox and dropped a K&N filter on the OEM intake tube. Worked good for me. Im sure the Comptech intake doesnt do much more than wat the icebox does...i think it is worth the extra money for the icebox to avoid hydrolock.

thing about the OEM intake tube is that it is not a smooth surface like the mandrel bent tube of the Comptech system.

rough surface = air turbulance = slower air velocity = less atomization in combustion chamber
