Problems Getting Car Started

I've been a lurker on these boards for a long time now. A week ago I bought a 2000 GS-R, but now it won't start.
I've done a search on these forums and also on clubintegra.com and tried some of the suggestions to try and get things going but to no avail. I just wanted to see what opinions or suggestions you guys have.
So what is happening is that it is turning over, but not starting. I suspect it is still the stock battery, but theres 13.5Volts running across it and when it was connected to a running car it had about 14.0V.
I've checked the fuel lines, the fuel filter, there is good fuel pressure, all the plugs are sparking. This would mean that the distributor and main relay are fine. However, for how many times I've cranked the car the exhaust pipe should reek of gasoline. This isn't happening though. I suspect its the injectors, something either mechanical or electrical. I've heard that the ECU might not send the signal to the injectors if the battery isn't maintaining a high enough voltage? I've also heard that disconnecting the battery will reset the ECU. I've also tried cranking it for over 20 seconds because someone said that would generate a CEL. Nothing though.
Right now its sitting in the parking lot of my university and I'm at home =(
Any other ideas on what could be wrong? I'm just thinking of getting it towed to a shop and having them look at it...

Well, it would be an early burnout for the part I'm thinking of, but I would check your ignitor. This burned out on me, and it was like trying to start the car and having no fuel. How you can troubleshoot this would be the following: First check the fuel system by sitting in it, with the doors closed and somewhat quiet. Turn the key to "on" (not start) and listen for a pressurizing noise. This means most likely your fuel pump is good. Turn the engine over a teensy bit, like 2 times. Then, go and pull a spark plug and see if it smells like gasoline. This means the rest of your fuel delivery system is good. The next test is to check for spark (easy) then to test the resistance on the ignitor coil (less easy... it's best to remove it and take it to autozone)
He already said he has good fuel pressure, and he is getting spark. Try resetting your ECU first and see if that changes anything. It takes 3 things to get a motor to run: air, fuel, and spark. You're getting spark and air, so you're not getting fuel....or the engine timing is bad. Was the car running rough at all before it stopped starting? Did it die while running?

Is your check engine light flashing? 2000 is still pretty young to have a starting problem. How many miles are on it? Does it have a warranty? I would get it to dealer if so and just have them fix it. If it is under warranty.
If you have an Ohm meter you can check the coil in the car. Just because the pump is working, does not mean fuel is getting where it should, checking the plug for fuel smell is a good idea. To reset ECU, you pull the battery cable off, but make sure you have the code for the radio first

:thinking: I think I need more sleep, as I didn't see any of that the first time through... I should get more than 3 hours of sleep a night, huh?
And I liked the idea of pop-starting it. That might get some results...

Was the car doing anything wierd before you had the starting problem? Running rough, dying while running, dim headlights?

Thanks for all the tips. I did reset the ECU by unplugging the battery, just forgot to mention that. The car was running fine, but the headlights were a little dim. What does this mean?
I'm gonna have the battery replace but I just had it towed to the local dealership to have them look at it. Sadly they're gonna change me 40 bucks to look at it =(
Anyway thanks for your guys' help though. I also picked up one of those Hayne's car manuals so maybe next time I'll be better prepared. I'm expecting it to be either a bad ground or something wrong w/ the injectors. It was just getting cold and I wanted my car working and I didn't wanna haul more tools over to my school parking lot so I just decided to throw money at the problem...
