Default Ls\vtec

I know this has been covered before, but I searched and was not able to find a clear answer. I have an ls w\109k and was thinking about doing an ls\vtec with the golden eagle adapter. I have good compression and I plan to only rev to stock ls redline and use a vafc to lower the vtec enagagement. Is this a reliable and worthy setup (with stock internals) for the price. I am not looking for an all out race motor, but something daily driveable and reliable. Also, what other gsr parts are reccommended (water pump, oil pump, timing belt?)
Thanks

Reliable, as long as you don't go above the stock LS redline...you say you won't, but you will. I wouldn't lower VTEC, it's just going to hurt the motor and your power. Use an LS timing belt, I'd also use a VTEC oil pump, your LS water pump will be fine. If you choose to go with a GSR water pump use a GSR timing belt.
