i dont think you loose any cause i think people just say that shiz just to be able to say something about it that is negative because there isnt anything negative about the bypass valve from aem is only helps i think but i may be wrong if there is anyone to prove me wrong please show dyno with and then without the bypass valve

personally I'm willing to take the risk of losing 2-3horsepower by adding the bypass valve if it means I don't have to buy a new engine...just a thought

ive driven through tons of puddles with my AEM CAI and ive had it for two years. so far so good. avoid puddles that are up to your bumper and dont drive like a madman in the rain and you're cool. personally i would never spend the money on a by-pass valve but if you live somewhere it rains a lot, then it maybe a good investment for you.

Ijust replaced my SRI Weapon R with an Injen CAI, difference? Not much, but it's true about the motor heating up and feeling the motor bog... companies may claim that their CAI offer substantial gains, but it's really not THAT big a difference, more psychological if anything (due to grunt

true, if i got the aem, i would get the bipass valve. But is it all worth it if you only gain 3 hp? I woyuld not notice 3hp.

I got the bypass valve, and AEM claims a few HP loss. They also mention that in good weather you can take it off and put a silicon hose in pace of it, to save the HP.

Let me re-iterate that going from my AEM SRI to AEM CAI was a very noticable difference.

its really not necessary unless you live somewhere that gets massive downpours of rain. I drove my GSR through the winter and all with a CAI and no bypass valve, no problems at all.
