Ok,i get head fine,but my problem is a noise thats comming from the top end of my motor.
My mechanic is the one who determined that the sound is comming from the top end,and he figured its one of two things,either the valves are out of adjustment,or the lifters are damaged somehow...

So i paid to have the lifters adjusted,and guess what,didnt fix the problem.
So now,he says i have to replace the lifters(he says cams too,new lifters eat up cams?)the problem with that is NEW lifters would cost 375 bucks,just for the lifters...i cant find anyone that sells em besides honda :barf:

Can i just either buy another head,and take lifters/cams out of it,or buy used lifters/cams from someone,or does anyone know of a place cheaper???

If anyone happens to know someone selling either lifters/cams or a head for a b18a1 motor,please hit me up,and a lil advice is always great@!

Heres a question,would used lifters and cams work?
as to the noise it makes,thats a hard one to answer...i had a rod bearing spin in my toyota,and this is a similar noise...only difference is that when i let off on the gas,when the rpms drop it makes a sound kinda like a whirrr.....but in general it is a ticking sound.
My mechanic determined it was in the top end,he adjusted the valves,and a bunch were out of adjustment...but the noise didnt go away,so now i guess i have to replace the lifters and cams...

Will lifters out of a different head work???i know some things are interchangable,such as valve springs ect...

if anyone has any idea what i can do,id be hella happy

you do realize that Honda fuel injectors tick a lot and are rather noisy.

 

ya, my 98 ls injectors are really noisy, i sometimes think its my valves but its not.

so wait a second....it could be the injectors???its a rather loud sound,didnt think it could be injectors?would the sound increase with rpm?is there any way you guys could tell me how to find out???
Injectors would be alot easier to fix i would think,but how do i find out?and anyone got some lying around?
