Default looking at an integ?

hey. i'm kinda new to the board. anyways i've been looking to buy an integra for a while. i saw one in the papers for a 1995 GS 2dr. 90K miles. AT. all for $3,500. it kinda sounds too good to be true, but i dont know.

anyways i was wondering what things i should look for when i go check it out and what kind of questions i should ask the seller.

thanks in advance!

Ask If he has reciepts for oil changes, tune ups, tire changes/rotations, things like that.
Ask if he put any kind of upgraded parts on it...
I'd want to look at it to check for things like water damage/rust, and paint that doesn't match - which suggests that there has been some crash repair.
Oh and find out if the AT was a typo...
If all this stuff checks out, you're on your way.

I bought my 94 LS MT w\106k for $3500. Also be sure to check out the cv's and run the car awhile at idle to make sure the cooling system is in good shape. Good luck

Why would a GS auto be a typo? Plan on a new timing belt and water pump right away. If maint has been done, hondas are good for a long long time

gs was available in 96 & up.
the equvalent to that in 95 was the special edition ls. the only thing close to gs in that year would be gs-r, which is 5 speed.

if you are planning to do stuff to your car, imo, automatic tranny is not the best way to go, however, if its something you need right away, thats a good deal.

btw, if you take good care of it, maintance and all, it will last a good time. i hit 200,000 miles a few weeks ago, and she still runs real good. one thing you want to make sure though, is make sure you check the heat. this may sound dumb, but you want to do this for head gasket purposes. keep the heat of for some time and make sure it blows HOT air, after worm up. also check the radiator resivoir for a greyish thick liquid, if you see it, then its no good.
if i were you, take it for a drive, and go to a gas station, get a mechanic to check it out, thats the best and quickest way to get an overall run of teh condition of the car.

Get a manual if possible, Honda manuals are cheaper and more reliable.

The poor integras never got much oomph out of the auto trannies, so I'd personally recommend holding out... But if you need an integra, and the VIN checks out.... it's a decent deal.
