Default new guy with weird problem

Every morning when I start my 99 GSR the parking brake light turns on even if I dont have the parking brake on. then after a few minutes of driving it turns off. the really weird part is that this only happens in the morning. Does anyone else have this problem?

the brake light is not only for your e-brake, it also light if the system is low on fluid as well as other things--if it is cold where u live it can be a false alarm because the fluid sensor doesn't always read right if it is cold

i agree with ls101 when its cold it doesnt read rite and takes a minute or so to warm up check the levels and see whats up or it could be a loose ground on the switch on ur ebrake take the consol out and check it out that its hooked up rite its just one wire to ground

it costs about $5 in parts and 2 minutes to fix this problem.

go to an Acura dealership and get these two parts from Service Bulletin #03-029:
Master cylinder reservoir filter: p/n 46666-S04-J02
Float: p/n 46666-S84-999

to fix: clean off the area aound the master cylinder cap. remove the cap and unplug the two terminals. pull off the E-clip and the end of the cylinder and remove the float. install the new float (make sure you dont put it on upside-down), and snap the E-clip back into place.

remove the filter by simply reaching inside the master cylinder and pressing your fingers to the sides while pulling up. make sure you have arag handy to carry it with so you dont get any brake fluid on your paint. slide the new filter in, top off the brake fluid, and put the cap back on. and make sure you plug the cap back in.

This is a common problem among Integra owners. I experience this myself and it doesn't bother me at all.

This is indeed a common problem. If you are concerned, do a search about it.......lots of threads on this........but I would just leave it as is.
