Default Sound System

I'm going to get a Sound System installed in 2 weeks.

I can have the sub-woofers installed facing out from the back seats, towards the trunk, or I can have the sub-woofers where the spare tire is, facing up. Now, there's pros and cons to each. If I have the subs facing towards the trunk, then the amps will be where the spare tire was. If I have the subs facing up, from where the spare tire was, the amps will be built into a box facing out toward the trunk.

Here's the dilemma:
If I install the subs facing out toward the trunk, and the amps where the spare tire was, with a plexiglass display and some neon, it'll look really cool, and I can still make use of the trunk for lugging some stuff around. However, I won't be able to put a rear upper strut bar in.

If I install the subs facing up from where the spare tire was, and the amps in a box facing toward the trunk, I'll be able to have the rear upper strut bar, but will NOT be able to make use of the trunk.

Has anyone put a sound system in the ITR? Any advice or input (other than don't put a sound system in your ITR) would be appreciated.

put a rear strut bar in the car and tell who ever is doing the install that you want to keep it. that way he can work around it.

I have a big sound system, in the hatch I have two twelve inch woofers, the box is placed behind the strut bar.

I also have a pic of a box that was made to fit, let me see if I can fine it.

lol, i can totally tell you're joking. anyway, i think that maybe the audio forum will have better answers. i know of one ITR that had a box put in facing the rear seats and the back of the box was against the rear strut bar.

Nope, not joking,, I can't find the pic.
It was like you described, between the rear sear and the strutbar, the guy even ran the wires thru the bar .
