I have a '95 integra se and the other day I noticed I had some oil coming from the exhaust camshaft sealing plug. I was just curious how hard this is to fix and if it's a common problym with b18b1 engines.

As a matter of fact, I just swapped mine out about a month ago. It would be a great idea. Go to www.lightningmotorsports.com and check them out under the engine section. They are relatively cheap and easy to swap out:

1. Remove spark plug wires.
2. Remove valve cover. Try not to rip the gasket as you will most likely reuse it if still intact.
3. In the B18C, you have to remove the oil rail over the cam. I don't think you would have to do this.
4. Unbolt the cam holder closest to the plug.
5. Pry it up carefully with a screwdriver.
6. Replace plug with new one and apply hondabond to the cam holder to head mating surfaces before replacing cam holder. Also, don't coat o-rings on the new plug with hondabond.
7. Reassemble.

It took me a matter of 15 minutes to do. Do a search on yahoo for a more in-depth procedure.

I bought the Golden Eagle cam cover for $30 shipped. It looks good in the engine compartment.

wow, your 95 only have 44K miles ..thats pretty low
my gf's 95 SE with 215K miles has the same problem..haven't had time to fix it..
My 94 GSR is clean, no leak yet and I drive it hard (knock on wood)

 

Its a very common problem. Many companies offer billet cam seals now...AEBS, Golden Eagle, STR.

 

eh, I bought the piece from the acura dealer and did it that way, I had to buy a new gasket too though... hondabonded the shit outta it though I did accidentally break one of the outside bolts, not the threads but the actual bolt, its tight but ill end up getting it drilled out eventually

 

the best bang for the buck cam plug to get is the 98 up gs-r/ITR plug. works just as good as the golden eagle, much cheaper, but doesnt look as good.
