Default wierd idle and throttle response

I have a 96 gsr that is completly stock with all original parts except for some. I've done a sparks plug tune up, oil, radiator, and thermostat. I used injector cleaners twice, but i still have a wierd idle. i was reading the thread about iacv and i forgot what it said but i unplugged the vaccum line to the iacv and the idle jumped. I added a 16gauge copper ground wire from the chassis to the valve cover because i could find a 8 guage wire. This helped the idling go down a bit, because the original wire is nasty and dirt filled. Also when i have the car starting when it is cold it seems to have a better idle. When it is warm then the idle tends to jump more. When i first start the car the car idle at 850 to 900 rpm and if i turn the steering wheel then the idle also jumps. How do i fix this?
Iwas going to take off the iacv and cleaning it, but what precaution and precedures should i take to clean it?
