Default should i change timing belt early?

hey my 95 GSR has almost 86000 miles.the clutch feels like its going, (as far as i know still the original clutch). and i know i need to do timing belt and water pump at 90,000. i do autox so the car sometimes gets run pretty hard, should i do the service early? also, by the beginning of next summer, i plan to get rid of the GSR for an R, id hate to spend all this money now, and sell it not too long after.
what do you guys think?

If you can do it yourself cant you get the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner for about 200 bucks (Genuine Honda). It is not a bad idea to do it early.

And its only 200 bucks and if your timing belt breaks most likely you will have to spend lots more than 200 bucks repairing the motor.

Considering what will happen when the timing belt snaps, yes. Do it early, do it right.
Water pump, new tensioner, the whole shebang.

and you will need to do it no matter what before you sell it, as most people know that timing belt and water pump need to be replaced at 90k, so if it isn't, they will most likely look elsewhere.

Or do what I did...which was to knock $800 off the asking price. h:

Think how sad you would be if your down payment for your ITR had a bunch of bent valves. It is not just the miles, age is important too

Doesn't the OM say every 7 years regardless of mileage? Sounds like your 2 years late.?.

Do the change now!! I did mine at 86K and glad I did since they found the water pump had a leak in it and the mechanic found some other things that needed attention. Money spent now, will save you a costly repair bill down the road.

FYI, If you want to do the change yourself, see the following DIY article - very good resource with photos.

Also, definitely get (buy, borrow or whatever) a high-torque impact wrench to get the pulley bolt off. Replace all of the accessory belts while you're at it.
