Default '94 GSR vibration under the car?

Went to go look at a '94 GSR 5spd completely stock today at a dealership. Took it for a drive and noticed it had a vibration at around 4,000rpm almost as if it was an exhaust shield or something like that. Sounded like it was coming from under the car but as the car got warmer, the noise would get quieter. One of the mechanics lifted it up and said it wasnt a shield cuz there was no shield installed on the car. He claimed it was just the way Integra's sound cuz they are imports and the air going thru the muffler blah blah blah = rice lol. But for all you VTEC experts maybe you know what the problem is and can tell me if he's hiding something from me and if it's something serious or not.

Sometimes, around 3.5K, some GS-Rs develop a buzzing noise that comes from faulty welding in the A-pipe of the exhaust manifold. It only appears for about a 400RPM band and after that, disappears as if it never existed. Sounds a lot like you have a broken heat shield, but a bit louder. Might wanna check that out.

It happened to my car

If it's that, there's no real way to fix it besides replacement... Well, I'm sure there's someone out there who could do it, but an aftermarket DC header wont cost you much, and give you _some_ power gains and a nice little weight reduction aswell.

ohh, BTW how exactly would the DC header make the car sound with stock exhaust also? I'd prefer not to look like one those guys driving around with a weedwhacker-type sound screaming by you at around 35mph.

same noise happened with my car, but with mine it was a heat shield that vibrated. i installed a short shifter and the noise was gone. the only heat shield i messed with was the one directly underneath the shifter. i had to take it out and bash into the middle of it to make room for the new shifter because the very bottom of it scraped against the heatshield. then made sure the heatshield was on there really tight. if cure #1 doesnt help maybe #2 will? ^^

I'd look at just getting a 4-2-1 ceramic one-piece. You can go stainless

A header would barely change the tone of your car. the biggest noise difference would actually be from the engine compartment, which may become slightly louder...

You don't have to worry about sounding like a weedwacker even if you get a quality catback system. That noise comes from pepboys mufflers (or even no muffler at all) with an illegally gutted cat.
