Not really, I have stock speakers and it sounds perfect to me. The only difference a aftermarket speaker would do for you is just better quality when you turn it up REALLY REALLY loud so where you cant hear anything else around you. Most stock speakers are very good (but still stock) unless you really have some money to buy some quality after market ones like the alpine series or pioneer and even kenwood, all great brands

For some people you can only tell the difference when you hear them side by side.

There is a huge difference between the stock speakers and a decent aftermarket set. Even at medium volume. Aftermarket produce better low end and high end ranges where stock will sound pretty washed together.

If you have the chance, go to a place that specializes in car audio. They should have a stock set of speakers on the wall that you can listen to. Then compare that to something from Apline, Rockford or even JVC.

Not sony though. Sony < Stock

Also if you replace the HU, it will put out more power than the stock HU, in which case the stock speakers will probably blow if you turn it up too high.

I say me and you hook up cus im always looking to meet some young ladies thats into driving fast and looking good But anyway i say if u want make a custom stereo system. Im gonna be working on shortly making a fiberglass thingy to put my subs in 1 on each side of my trunk so i still got space in my 92 Civic LX. But i indubadably suggest u get rid of the stock speakers. Find some joe blow that works at best buy or circuit city flirt with him so u can use there discount cus trust me i use to work at circuit city and i got friends that work at best buy if u ever need audio stuff at dirt and i mean dirt cheap prices go to them i bought some fading underbody neons that retailed for 190 i think and i got them for 80 bucks with the discount.

Yeah. Okay. Fiberglass "thingy"?

Thanks for the congrats. I know peoples at Carmax and can get good prices on tires and stuff. As far as the stereo stuff....I am not a big fan of Cirquit Shitty or Worst Buy. I like Crutchfield. Despite them being kinda expensive.

Actually most of the time youll get much better detail even at lower volumes. Aftermarket speakers also have the ability to be louder in most cases but will need an amp to do it cleanly. Most head units run out of gas really fast. Ive pulled the stock speakers from my integ and theres no use to try to build a system around them imo. If you can be happy with stock speakers more power to you though.
