Default A small comparison

Sunday Texas A&M held a practice auto x which was a solid 30 sec corse. I took my stone stock itr out and ran against people i usually run my b16 powered race car against. I used a set of used itr rims i bought from RJ and mounted a set of 205/50/15 very worn out Azenis on them. With no race alignment on worn out badly heat cycled tires i was able to pull out a 24.1 by example race prepared Z06's with race rubber on them were pulling out high 23's and low 24's. Now my friends i am not a very good driver and have less than a year behind a fwd steering wheel which is a huge change for a rwd guy. Its all in the car... That thing is incredible, what a piece of machinery..

Yeah, she peed in a few pools this weekend. There is nothing like a 5k (former totaled out) 4 cyl fwd mopping up some 50k high end cars.. Several people were not happy with me and a few would not even talk to me after the event. ( i am sure it was Honda envy)..

These cars are so easy to drive fast.

I'm really starting to get the hang of it - its amazing just how far you can hang it out (oversteering, loose) before it bites. I got the car sideways a couple times last weekend at Beaverun and at an Autox sunday and just a little unwinding of the steering wheel brought it right back in.

You've reminded me that I was talking to Jason Franza at Summit Point a couple of weekends ago.

He's at the top of the heap in H2 and runs solidly near the top in H1 as far as lap times.

He's so comfortable with the ITR that he lapsed into the old school line that, "It's not me. It's the car. Aren't they neat?"

LOL... It's not the car if you're running in the middle of H1, but I understand the feeling.

Well, you certainly passed me a couple of times.

Hook a brother up and lets see some video.. Hell there is just one more of these thing around here and i am the only one who puts mine on the track.
I just love going to the track and being the under dog with the cheep car that mops up... Not that i am a good driver but more that its all in the power to weight ratio and the great handling of these two cars..
