Default exhuast help here

Ok i have a apexi N1...where i live i dont need cats so i took mine out..however its really loud...i dont want to put my cat back on cause i have a 3 in exhuast for my turbo...but i want something that will quit it down as much as i can without loseing HP>..

i say in summit they have a product from dynomax..its a 16 in muffler that it 4 in round with a inlet out let of 3 in so it will fit perfect on my exhuast pipeing...would this work???

thanks for the help

put in a carsound cat from what i heard someone dyno'ed there car without a cat and with carsound and got better results with the carsound cat. its better because open header or no cat kill the exhaust velocity and it also helps the enviorment.

Well, do you have the A'PEXi N1 exhaust system, or did you buy custom piping with a 3" N1 muffler? I would say, buy yourself a resonator and put it in the same location your stock would be. If you didn't buy a silencer, get one. Or if the sound annoys you enough, you should be thinking about changing different mufflers.

I would go with the carsound cat. I've heard really good things about them. I would also check into getting a silencer. You lose a couple of hp but it cuts down on the sound dramatically.

www.exhaustproslinc.com, I would still recommend using a resonator. That will quiet it down more and will be cheaper.

My suggestion to anyone, unless they are running boost and require 3" piping

Is to keep the stock piping, after all, it is stainless and most likely the same size as new cat back system, why pay money to put in something exactly like you already have

Attack the primary points of restriction, cat and muffler. I'm pretty sure a hi flo cat can be had for under $200, and I'm not sure how much a good muffler runs for.

I'd be willing to bet you get better results than a $600 cat back system, not that the stock exhaust is all that bad to begin with
