Default Exhuast Help

I need to replace my muffler on my 60mm Apexi N1 cat back on my 99-00 civic. I know they make a 60mm and 80mm Apexi N1 universal. I would like to gain alittle if possible so I was curious as to how if it would be possible to run my 60mm piping into the 80mm inlet universal muffler. If it would work would it hurt me or help me ?

Does the engine really put out that much power that you need such a big exhaust??? I would stick with the 60mm That's good enough for NA, will help you top end, and won't kill your low end as much as going for the 80 and giving up more back-pressure. Specially if you already have headers in there too.

I think its putting out like 170whp at this point. Im just curious as to upgrading because it seems like now that the exhaust is leaking, the car is some how alot faster and pulls stronger which is what i dont understand

What are your mods that you say push you to 170whp and require such a big exhaust? I wouldn't go for anything larger than 60mm piping for an N/A car. Forced induction is another story and the larger, the better. Unless you got some huge cams and an extensive N/A buildup, which it doesn't sound like you do, there is no reason to go bigger than 60mm.

JDM GSR motor wit I/H/E/CAT/FLYWHEEL/CLUTCH/FPR/VAFC2. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on to 2.5 on N/As, i know some people wit N/As running 2.5s that say its worth it. Im going to run the car wit the exhuast leak next week and see what how it performs, if the MPH is higher than the normal 93-94 then I will know that the 60mm exhuast has been holding me back and I will upgrade.
