Default Caring for GSR

I use my gsr as a daily driver for the most part, and i tend to rev in the 6k-8k rpm range probably 10 times a week. Is this a lot for a dd? Anything i should be especially aware of when maintaining my teg? I love the gsr, and I get so addicted to the upper rpm range, but I don't know if i could be imposing any sort of damage to my car by doing this so much (or at least a lot to me).

6k shouldnt hurt it. Do you know what block it is? 8000 might be abit much for some. Anyway high revving wont hurt it usually, just dont run 7000+rpm *everywhere* and you should be fine.

Let me clarify abit more. my B16A2 can rev up to 8200 stock, any higher probably wouldnt make power anyway. With some of the other B series they rev lower.. so you might want to figure out what engine exactly you have and then go check out what the redline is on it. Thatll give you a pretty good point to stop before, as its never good to redline constantly.

if you are gonna be rev-happy with it (and i don't blame you), you may want to use a better oil. for instance, mobil 1 synthetic....provides great protection and wont breakdown in that RPM range.

When you change your oil, look for any metallic color or shavings to see if you aren't damaging your block.

Well, it is the 95 gsr, so it is the B18c1, with redline at i believe 8100 and fuel cutoff at 8200-8400 or so. Yes, I have been using quality oil, and i replace it every 2500 or so, just to be extra cautious. As for mpg, when i do rev it quite high, i usually baby it for a little bit after that, sort of compensating. I still get about 28ish mpg most every time. thank you

Hondas love to rev, your car is designed to rev like that, just don't drive it like that all the time.

Great protection and such, but burns off like a bitch in the higher RPMs.

I like my 5w30 Honda OE oil... Works fine for me!

When was the last time you checked you valve lash? After making sure all the valves were completely to spec, I noticed a marked decrease in VTEC oil consumption... but then again, mine were way off h:
