Default 1986-87 integra

hey dudes

i recently bought a integra 1986-1987, 1600 DOHC.

Its a cheap run around car... as well as my first Honda. I want to know if there are any mods i can do ( within reasonable $ range) or if there are any problems i should look out for.

i'll appreciate any input. Also on occasion my PRM FI lights up. Whats going on there?? noticed it comes up when i have low fuel and the headlights on

thanks

cool thanks.... where can i find it?? i usually do all the work myself so when i go for long trips i can diagnose and fix the problem myself.

Also, if the relay is going bad and say it eventually dies... is the car drivable? cos at the moment the car is driveable even when the light is on.

thanks

No, absolutely not. If the main relay dies, the car will die.

Congrats on the purchase, the 1G is a great little car despite all the hate the 3G guys tend to throw at it. The D16A1 is a very easy engine to get more power out of for cheap, just use DOHC ZC parts (cams, pistons, etc.)

ok cool... but where is this relay located?? I also think it could be the oxygen sensor as the light tends to come on when i cruise. If i give the car a good feral kaneing it doesn't seem to turn on.

have the 1g have faulty O2 sensors???

No, all old cars usually have faulty O2 sensors.

Check the ECU for codes. It's right below the passenger seat, and you can see the blinking light by just looking under there. Count the number of times it blinks and tell us.

Not true, I would've gotten a nice G1 in great condition had it not been sold by the time I came back with the check

Well as a member of the HAN moderating team and as a third-gen owner, I want to extend a warm welcome to you. Enjoy your stay with us.

As Kai alluded to, the DOHC ZC cams and piston will do nicely if you plan to refresh the motor a tad. In combination with the standard bolt-ons, you'll have a strong motor in a light chassis.

Once again, welcome to HAN. :goodjob:
