hey.... i got a guy tryning to sell me a b16a with a type r head..and i just got a quick question... is there any stamps on the head that i can check to make sure it is a type r head???? thanks

 

it should have p72 stamped above one of the exhaust ports

 

thanks snoppy... are you sure it should say p72???? it is on a b16a2 block by the way.... but anyway i had people tell me it should say pr3- then a number....i am gonna go look at it today and tell you what it says.... the stamp is right above to exhaust right???... thanks

 

okay i just checked and it had pr3-3 stamped on it... i am gonna do some research and check on it...

 

I will be working on my car some today. I'll check on the marks and report back.

Facing the car, above the exhaust header on the driver side is [PR3-4] in one block and [H 14] in another block.

What you said sounded familiar, though. Perhaps it's stamped somewhere that's not readily visible from outside the car w/everything assembled.

 

there should be green markings on the intake side of the head plus the pr-3 stamp.
