my first real time driving a manual car was when i drove it home after buying my integra! i had about 20min experience before that, but it wasnt too hard to get it home...i then drove it around mostly at night for the first week...now a month later im hooked on my m/t!!
When i was learning i stalled the car several times on the way and from school... hell sometimes when i get distracted i stall the car. embarassing it is, thats why i drive off fast when i do. lol so when u stall dont be too embarassed.
yeah. everybody stalls once in while. if not in their car, in someone elses that they haven't driven before. they important things are don't grind gears, which can happen if you don't clutch right, and if you put the trans in gear at an improper speed especially frist gear. you don't really need to downshift into first, and I've seen some people complaining that their car would grind or bump when they rev it really hard. Common sence. The car was designed to be shifted at a less than red-lined rev. so putting it in gear evan while up-shifting at a really high rpm is just going to have that kind of outcome.... you'll learn the speed and rpms of each gear, and if your like I was, you'll obsess about speeds, rpms, torque steering, braking..... good times bro.

i learned to drive stick in about 20 min. Its not hard like others said know where your releases point is and clutch shift gas release and you'll be fine. If you are worried about screwing up your car i might recommend going to a used car lot a "test" driving their cars

The biggest thing to learning how to drive a stick is finding the catch point of the clutch. Also, I dont know if I'm the only one, when shifting if you let the gas and clutch engagement overlap just a little bit (might jump 300rpms) then shift, it is so much smoother.
Thanks for your input.
I am getting a 3 hours M/T lessons from a driving school next week, $150 total, not bad...
hopefully after the 3 hours, I will be able to drive out my 6 speed M/T G35 coupe. (althought i almost went for an Auto, hard to believe the M/T is more expensive than the Auto for G35)
by the way, is GSR 6 speed? the Reverse is on the right of the 6th gear?
Do you guys find the driving in traffic is a pain with M/T?
Anyone with regrets driving M/T? or should've went for auto?
