Hi Guys.
In regards to my 96 LS with Auto , lately I can't shift out of park unless I use the "Shift release lock" with my key.
And yes, my brake is down... .I don't know why or what's going on.... thanks!

Any ideas?

Have the same problem, started yesterday. car works fine just won't shift out of park without extra key in lock.

 

get a 5speed

 

when you press the brakes, do you hear something engaging in the gearbox? i know when i press the brake, i hear a click. maybe that engagement point is loose or not connected?

 

all fixed turned out to be the horn fuse, the wire in my horn was loose and touching a peice of metal blowing the fuse, moved the horn, new fuse all is well..

And as for the post above, I would love to swap to 5 speed if you got an xtra one send it my way.
