Default b18a1 vs b18b

What are the major diffrences if any?

Reason I'm asking is I've been having some oil burning and general old age of the current b18a1 engine that's in there, the quote to get it rebuilt is just under the cost of a used b18b. Soooo, the brain and I were thinking that it might be more worth while to just got with the b instead. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Ok, well that's pretty good. Would be a direct replacement then.

Major differences? None, only slight cam profile changes and manifold differences. Oh, and the valve cover changed on the newer B18B's.

Leave them outside to air out for a few warm days.
