weird idea, possible?
I have an idea. Slap me if need be, but hear me out.
For the heck of it, no real reason... I've always wanted to start my car by flipping a switch and then pushing a button. Would make it seem cool and I think it would be a fun project.
I'm thinking I'll need 2 switched, one for the ON key posisition, one for the ACC and a momentary button to trigger the starter.
I would still want to have the key there, for what it offers in security and as a backup. I want to turn the key to the ACC and then flip the 2 switches and then push the button to start the car.
Yea, it's pretty crazy. Just something I always thought would be cool. :dunno:

I want to still have to use the key, then flip a switch or two... then have the s2k button start style thing. I think that'd be cool.

just a quick search. im sure other places carry them too. and you still have to use the key no matter what, since the key unlocks the steering column and ignition, not to start the ignition.
and if you want to add another switch for "added safety" just split one of the power wires to the start button, and put in a switch.
