Although the water pump really isn't necessary unless it's leaking, it requires that most of the same things be taken off as the timing belt and the coolant drained so you might as well do them both at once and save yourself trouble down the line.
Since I've been told on two separate threads that I should go ahead and replace the timing belt, that'll be the first thing done after I get it running again. I'll have them look at the water pump, also. Thanks for the info.
