dynotuning/vafc help
Hey, this is my 1st time posting here, and I need some help. I'm looking for prices on dyno tuning. Looking for what some of you have paid for an hour or two on the dyno with them tuning it, i don't think i'm qualified to do it myself. Last weekend a friend of mine installed a Vacf2 and a set of CTR cams in my 96 gsr and now the idle drops from around 1200 down to around 650. And my CEL has come on with a code 71(1st cylinder misfiring) Any of you guys with experiance help me out. Any ideas on how to fix these problems without gettingit on the dyno? I have atleast a 3 hour drive to the nearest. Thanks in advance.
you shouldnt have been idling at 1200 in the first place. 700 is where the idle should be Im pretty sure. If I were you, I would call a reliable local shop and talk to them about your misfire.
Ok right now i'm going by what the VAFC says but around 700 rpms the car feels like its gonna cut off. the 1200 is usually what idle is at 5-10 minutes after starting, after letting it sit for a while. When it's warm idle bounces around 650-750 and anything lower that 720 or so it feels like the car is going to stall. And the misfire, could the VAFC be causing that? The trouble with taking it to a shop is, I don't have any performance shops around here. And I don't want to take it to honda just for them to tell me that they can't do anything since the VAFC is installed.
If it seems that your idle is dyingi know you can change the correction onyour vtec controller thats whats the huy did on my 01 gsr i now have stage 1 skunk2 cams. And also follow the directions on mr.fatbootys post. you should be alright
