Default Code readers

Where do you get the device to read the codes your car is trowing I have none yet, But it's a nice tool to have

This is what the code reader looks like.



Yup, all you need is a paper clip, jumper, or piece of wire.

my car flashes this as soon as i turn my car on....w/ out the paper clip method...what does this mean? Thanks!

If the light falshes once when you turn on the car, its normal. BUT, if it stays on while the car is turned on than you have a problem.

well it stops off after 10 flashes....but still need to know if this is right!?! to mrfatbooty...or whoever...do i have to do the paper clip/wire thing before i can get the correct flashes? Because mine flashes when i first start the car!

HELP!
You have to put the paperclip in the jumper with the ignition off. Than you turn it and count the flashes. 1 long = 10 1 short = 1

let me rephrase this....mine flashes w/ out doing anything, nothing. I start my car and it flashes 10 times(fast) everyday without doing this....understand?

Are you sure it's the check engine light and NOT the Maint. Req'd light?

besidesw it doing it on its own.
Try doing the paperclip thing anyways and check what code/codes it gives you
