when talking about the difference between 4.40 and 4.785, the difference wont be collossal but you will notice. you might be better off spending your money someplace else.

Would you mind telling us what you'll be doing with your ITR? That would help us advise you.

The "advantage" of changing the final drive is exactly what common sense would tell you. You get better acceleration at the expense of engine RPM.

I have a JDM final drive on my ITR. It is a helpful part of an overall package that makes the car more pleasant to drive on both the street and road courses.

I don't think it's that simple at all. It depends on what you're using the car for, and what you're expecting out of it. There are some significant downsides to replacing the FD - in addition to the cost - as well as benefits.

Go through those previous threads, and you will see - in between the praise - that the downsides are there, downsides that the proponents grudgingly acknowledge. It's up to you to decide what your own needs and priorities are, and whether the shorter FD fits into those needs.

Agree'd. The "rOx NadZ" was totally tongue in cheek Ken. I'm sure we and others have covered it many times in the above linked posts. It is totally up to the owner to research, study and decide.

Having a final drive is definately a good idea.

To put it in a single sentence, a higher final drive trades off top speed in all gears for faster accelleration.
