Auto tranny questions
my sisters teg tranny is starting to slip at the 1st to 2nd transition, i found a local that is selling a tranny for $40 but he doesnt know what year its off of. my sister has a 93 teg. is there a way to tell from the vin number what year the tranny was made? and what year trannys can i use on my sister's car without running into any compatibility problems? i.e. computer...etc
The year of manufacture is the 10th digit of the VIN.

thanks kai for the info. i was also wondering, my sister was trying to tell me the level of fluid in her tranny but her dipstick is way different than mine. she says hers has like an eye looking thing on it. when the fluid is hot where is the perfect level supposed to be at?
the only numbers on the tranny are MP7A-1030843, thats what the guy said. so i doubt this tranny was made in 2004 for a B series engine unless hes missing some numbers or that the wrong one..
