heater console removal (98 integra)
Can I get some tips on how to remove the console for the heater in a 98 LS? My girlfriends car had the knob that turns the temperature up and down break on her and I wanna see about replacing it but have no idea how to remove it ... it seems as if it just snaps in, but donnt wanna pull to hard in case there is screws.
Thanks for any tips!!

Mike,
I changed my heater console on my '96 LS a while back because the temp control broke on me.
You'll have to remove the hazard and rear defroster buttons. You'll find 2 phillip screws holding the heater console. After you remove them, you'll have to pull out the entire piece. Be carefull, there will be 2 wires attached to the heater console. When you phsyically have the heater console removed, unclip these two wires.
There's also another cable connected at the bottom of the heater console, that controls the temperature setting. If you follow it, it runs all the way underneath the passenger glove box. Disonnect this and you can reinstall this after you put in your new console on.
Tips:
-Use a magnetic phillips screwdriver.
-The reason why my temp switch broke wasn't because it was sticking, it was because the switch underneath the passenger glove box was really tight, you might want to check on that and add some grease. You might run into the same problem after you install the new console and have the temp switch break on you again.
Any other questions, lmk..
