first you aren't suppose to "skip" gears when you shift, that could be the cause of the syncro's going bad. Second, Acura doesn't sell new or reman. manual tranny's for integra's. You have to rebuild them.
remove another plug a little further up on the tranny case and fill with gear oil just until it's level with that upper plug hole, then put the plug back in. It'll take about 2.2 litres to fill it
I remove the VSS on top of the case to fill. Much easier.
Acura/ Honda doesnt sell new trannys i think they are all remanufactured parts but im not positive its still as good as new bc honda rebuilds them its not likt hey send them to midas of something
Jan try falconis acura I still think it would be cheaper even with shipping than your local acura dealershiphttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33733&item=2480155 857&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW they are a H.A.R.D. honda acura racing development dealership. dont know if they all are anyway. hope this helps
I think Lin on h-t can get a factory unit for a little over $1600. As for oil i use the Honda trans stuff it just seems to work better than any other fluid i have used including Red Line.
Here in Michigan, my local Acura dealership sells new transmissions. I got a quote of $2139 for a new ITR trans.
Sure, they can quote you off the computer's parts program. No problem, it will spit out a part number and a price. Try to order the damn thing though. It's not going to be availible. They can get all of the parts except a complete unit, maybe some dealers are buying the parts and assembling it then selling it. Honda will get a tranny for you if you have some special circumstance, maybe some dealers are B.S. ing Honda into a few. I know I've tried to buy an ITR tranny before and I couldn't order it through my dealer. None are in warehouse inventory.
