Default Abs Problem

ABS PROBLEM:
I have a 1994 GS-R in good running order. Starting last night when I started my car after work there was a “buzzing” that lasted for about a minute followed the ABS light illuminating. I came home and consulted both the forums and my Haynes repair manual. I learned that the “buzzing” noise was the ABS system trying to pressurize. The cause for this usually being a failing o-ring located beneath the accumulator. Sure enough, there was brake fluid beneath the ABS system as well as a small amount of spotting on the ground under the head light assembly. Just for practicality’s sake I also go the trouble code from the ABS system (it was a Main Code 1 with no sub code indicating “pump motor over-run”). This error would make sense, given that the abs system can pressurize if it is leaking. If it is in fact a failed o-ring beneath the accumulator is this something I should try to replace? I am fairly competent when it comes to cars, but have never worked on an ABS system before. Any help/ advice would be much appreciated.

You mean modulator right, not the accumulator? Never really heard of an ABS component called the accumulator, but hey I could be wrong. A dude in my old class had also a modulator on I think it was actually a '96 GSR go out on him and he had Two options:

1) rebuild the accumulator with another person in the class
2) go buy another one from the junk yard.

I think he opted for the rebuild, haven't seen him since to ask him how that went. You might want to look into that.

YUP, I'm wrong, there is such a thing as an accumulator.

In the second post he explains my problem pretty well and the diagram shows the location of both the o-ring and the accumulator. The only information left to desire is how to change the o-ring. I would prefer not to replace the entire abs module if the only this that is wrong is a used up rubber o-ring.
