Ok when i start my car, it makes this sqeaking noise coming from the power steering pump area. My ps pump is leaking, it may be the hose, but it think its the pump (its throwing fluid up on the hood) and i havnt had time to replace it yet.

So it does this and idles at 1200 until i get in and turn the steering wheel about 1/4 turn either way, and the idle will go down to the normal 800 and the noise will go away. Now at this point i attempt reving the motor back to 1200 to get the noise again, and cant, it only happens at the first start up till i turn the wheel. then it goes away.

What can this be, anyone??

Lack of PS fluid may be the case. I had a similar situation when my PS pump was lacking fluid.

 

It is below the max, but still above the min, ill go get some and see if it helps, thanks
