Default HIDS: Which brand?

Hey guys,

I need some help... I am about to buy a HID kit but am not quite sure which brand to buy... Would u guys recommend Hella or Phillips? and any noticeable differences in the two brands? If anyone has any pics of Hella or Phillips 6000k.. please post them. ..

Thanks!

The standard Hella kits have a more purpilish appearance like new Acura's, and the standard Philips kits have more of a blueish color, like the new Nissan's.

The 6000K and up kits just have a coating in the glass (like cheap "blue bulbs") that filters out certain colors... making them appear a different color, but also making them dimmer. I saw a new Yukon the other day with one of those high K kits in it, and they were like barney purple... they looked really cheesy if you ask me.

I have Osram (hella) bulbs in my car, and I love them...

If you can, definatly get a Philips or Hella kit... they are both reputable brands that make quality products. You can find them on eBay all the time. The K2 kits suck, so stay away from them. Eagle eye and Eaglite are also good brands... I think they both use philips ballasts.

Default I got Philips 4200K

I recommend the Philips brand, since thats what i have had in my teg for the last year. I love the color, the intensity, and the look from the front. Gives the purest of white color. To high of a K will result in loss of intesity. Just think back to the first generation of ion blue bulbs, it was impossible to see the road.

Here is a link to my pictures I took of my HID
