I think I just reached my 7 month "anniversary" myself. Of course, it's only been on the road for like 4 of those months... Heh heh, and this is probably the second longest amount of time I've owned any one car.

Damn - I didn't know he was the genious I should of asked for tips back when he instructed me at Expo 3!!

Maybe the next expo should be a standing start! j/k

Before everyone jumps me, I know street racing is wrong and I rarely if ever do it, but I pulled up to a 99+ Mustang GT with the license plate "SMOKEDU". I didn't really think anything of it as I expected he probably had some Vortech SC or some other crazy fast mods which would obliterate my R. So we take off and the light and he starts to get into it, so I do too just to see how bad it will really be, expecting to get trashed early (like in 1st and then accelerate normally from that point forward). Well, to my suprise, through first start pulling out, second keep pulling, third till 70 or so continue to pul as I hear the fading shreak of his V8 ripping shifts behind me (a little over 1 car length now)

I was genuinely suprised I took him especially with someone as bold to have a licesnse plate like that. Normal road speeds for the area were 55mph so I was going any faster than I would have been anyway. I just had to chuckle at what he must have been thinking when he refused to give a thumbs up or even establish eye contact, but rather just scope the car out from about a 1/2 car length back. Wuht-eva, it made my day regardless.

Just call my R the Pony Killer

For all you people that say drag racing just isn't for you, haven't tried it (legally, of course) Although our cars weren't designed for the strip, it's still extremely fun. Don't get why so many are inclined to "bash the strip", it's not only a good place to learn about your own car, but others as well.

While my ITR is still relatively stock and serves as my daily driver, along with autocross and Time Trials, I still get out and roadrace once in a while.
My partner did a write up on our last trip...on Saturday to Lime Rock.

This is the link to the post...long, but a great racing story, and isn't it the title of this thread...enjoy

Drag Racing is only fun for a few seconds. That's my problem with it. Autocrossing it also only fun for ~1 minute. That's my problem with that. At least driving on a track can be fun for 15-40 minutes straight.

"The other car slammed into a tree" Hah! -The idiots in philapelphia.

It looks like both cars egged each other one so much that they both ignored their own instincts and took a corner way too fast.
