i have noticed that my car (2001 integra gsr coupe) runs out of gas at 220 miles. usually it runs out at 270 mile per tank. I have AEM CAI. Is the aem cai causing the gas loss? Thanks for any help.

 

I just posted a thread on this a little while ago. When was the last time you did a routine check up on it? Replace the spark plugs, distributer cap and rotor, FUEL FILTER and clean your fuel injectors? How many miles does the car have? Mine was wasting a lot of gas and changing the fuel filter and puting injector cleaner in fixed the problem.

 

well i have 20,000 miles. I have had a few oil changes, thats all. nothing else done.

 

should'nt you be getting more like 300 - 320 miles per tank? I have a 96 Gsr thats gets 300+ in the city. Are you a lead foot? I would think that only getting 220 miles is very strange

Why does only getting that many miles per tank seem odd to you?? I only get about 240 I mean im not running it down to nothing but thats 26 MPG there in a 95 GSR

 

240 divided by approx. 11 gallons (12.2 gallons being a full tank, but you don't use all 12.2 gallons) equals around 21-22 miles to the gallon...

i run 310 on a full tank and i have a gsr as well, and occassionally i punch it here and there... and thats when the gas light barely comes on.. so around 28 miles to the gallon..

240 isn't rilly normal

 

can the CAI affect the gas milage at all? if so by how much?

 

do u have any mods to your car?
