mitsubishi not very reliable cars either...so if reliability has any merit for this project i would definetly go with the integra over the eclipse even if it is turbo

Just to let you guys know. My brother and I just bought a dark green 97 gsr coupe. I already have a 95 gsr 4dr (dark green), but that one is mostly a commuter car. The new one, was a little under 8000, but only has 70,000 miles on it, and the exterior and interior are emaculate. I have 2,000 currently to put into it, and my brother and I will start modifying it next week.

Yes a GSR would be a better platform than the LS for anything (Turbo, Nitrous, All-Motor, etc.) but you won't find a 3rd gen one (94 and up, you're looking at 96ish) for only 4 grand. The GSR and non-turbo Eclipse aren't even in the same ballpark...

An early 3rd gen Integra LS/GS/RS (for 4 grand, that means a 94 or 95), is perfect for that pricerange. Very reliable, pretty quick (about a half second faster than an Eclipse stock). And there are tons of possiblities you can do with 4 grand in your pocket. You can easily have a 13 second daily driver

Good luck!

Sucks for you man. I have 155k miles and my tranny doesn't grind, even in 3rd, even when racing.

TURBO TURBO TURBO TURBO TURBO, wait did i say turbo??
If its a nice GS-T or the incredible GS-X, go for it
RS and GS are usually in the RiceBurner area,
IF u cannot afford the Turbo'ed Clipse, Get a sexy integra, besides, u have a website like this to rely on i guess.

Well since it's a project car, go with an Eclipse turbo. It may be more fun to have something completely different from youro daily driver. On top of that, you will break parts with that DSM.
