I actually had to unbolt the exhaust from the header and remove it from the hangers on either side of the bottom of the shifter. I used a bungie cord to hold it to the side slightly to give me a little less than an inch of clearance. In the process I believe I've tampered with the O2 sensor on the exhaust, so that's something to think about next time.

Typically the stretch breaks the connection inside the sensor.
Wires go up to the engine compartment, merge with the engine harness in with the intake manifold sensors, then routed across the back of the engine to the connectors mounted on the passenger shock tower.
