Default **Brakes thread**

I was curious to know what everyone's setup is, and their feedback on it.

can you guy post the type of:

Rotors
Pads (cost / dust / noise)
Fluid

and your feedback on them. im mainly curious about the ones that uses the OEM calipers, but if you have aftermarket ones, please share.

and since i didnt want to make a whole other thread, does anyone have the directions to swap the four rotors and pads and putting in NEW brake fluids on the integras. specially 1999 GS sedan.

thanks a lot.

formerly on the teg:

4 Brembo blank rotors, about $20 a piece
AEM/Nissin front pads ($45), Raybestos rear ($20)
Valvoline high temp fluid
Also had speed bleeders

I'm not a pro here, I haven't had any other set up other than stock and this felt like much stronger braking power.

Rotors: replaced w/ OE
Pads: OE front (overpriced/low dust/no noise), Advanced Auto rears (very cheap/lots of dust/no noise)
Fluids: OE
Calipers: replace w/ OE

General rules:

- Slotted, drilled, or dimpled rotors are mostly for bling; plain replacements are fine
- Good pads in no particular order: AEM, Axxis/PBR MetalMaster, Axxis Ultimate, Hawk HPS, Porterfield R4S
- Stainless lines are a big thumbs up in improving feel
- Good fluids, again in no particular order: Ate Super Blue, Motul RBF600, Valvoline SynPower

If you go to bigger rotors or calipers, you will get bumped from SCCA Stock, Street Touring, or Street Prepared classes. (Figured I'd mention that since you might be doing that type of stuff)

Integra Brake Pads & Rotors
Integra Brake Caliper Removal/Replacement
Integra Brake Fluid Flushing/Replacing
Integra Brake Bleeding

Fairly simple stuff here.

Blank Rotors
Cobalt GT Sport Pads (Street)
Ferodo DS3000 (Track)
ATE Super Blue

I would suggest looking into Hawk HP+ or Cobalt GT SPort if ytou want to improve your braking. The AEM are not that agreessive of a pad.

HP+ are meant for street and race. therefore, they will be a harsher material, thus more noise. And upon further research have the same coefficients of friction @ 200º and 600ºF as the ITR front pads (.45-.55).

I have a chart I made of some aftermarket pads and the EBC Greens have an operating temp of ~200-1200ºF, similar coeff. as the HP+; except have lower harshness on rotors, and a fairly low dusting. Greens' pad life is somewhere around 35K miles.
