Default Engine lag! Help!

Hey guys
I've been having this problem for about 2 months or so and i had just been attributing it to the weather because its been winter and been cold. But when im in first gear and im pulling away from a stop sign and i press the gas my engine lags, i'll press the gas but the car wont really go anywhere it'll go liek 10 mph and then all of a sudden it'll lurch and it's like a delay. Occasionally this will happen when im downshifting from 3rd to second and im in low rpms. And it's not attributed to just low rpms and a lack of throttle response. Any ideas??/ I'm stumped. My friend who works at Honda says its just the weather and his Civic SI does the same thing. My car has 125K mi on it..Please gimme some feedback!

I’m thinking that it might be your clutch or your driving skills.
The clutch might just be bad and its not grabbing hard
Or
Might just be your clutch work, Ex. giving too much gas and not letting the clutch out. Making it seem like the engine is bogging

If you've got 125K on the original clutch, then that's my first bet.

The clutch was replaced at 115K. It is hard to beleive it would be my skills because its after the clutch is already engaged fully, And it happens regardless if the rpms are high when i disengage the clutch it still lags or bogs. Plus this didnt start happening till two maybe three months ago and i've had the car for over a year and never had this problem even when i first started driving stick. Any other suggestions? No one else ever had this problem?

I'd check your distributor, plugs, and wires as a simple thing to do...

Look for corroded contacts in on the dist cap and rotor, fouled spark plugs, so on and so on. It might be a smart idea to just do maintenence like a new fuel filter if you haven't done that recently too. Clogged cats can also cause excessive backpressure, which could cause bogging too...

It just might be the catalytic converter because my cat is bad and i just purchased a new one which ill install next week and pass emissions and get re-registered with as well. But ill do some maintenence stuff on it too. Could it be a leak in the vaccum?
