ok my friend went to the drag strip last sat. ran some mid 14's a 14.2 then a 13.6. but the thing with the 13.6 is it says he ran like a 1.5 60 ft on street tires. i don't believe it and neither does anybody else but he has the slip. he doesn't believe me there could have been some thing wrong with the timing lights. here is what he has done skunk 2 im, aem type r cai, act xtss clutch, act 8.5 lbs. flywheel, carsound cat, tanabe srm exhaust. and some dunlop sp sport 905 tires.
also his car is extremely low could that effect th timing lights he has koni yellows with h&r race. please somebody shed some light on this freak occurence. and he says he doesn't need to run again cause he already ran it so he won't try and back it up.

 

there had to have been something wrong with the lights. my car is somewhat low and i had to stage twice (ie: pre stage, stage, pull up further, pre stage, stage again). i doubt that has anything to do with it but ya never know. 13.6 with those mods is impossible, 14.2 is pretty damn good also. i'd say run the car again at the strip and see if he comes close.


on a side note, how does he like the clutch? thats the one im going to get for my turbo.

edit: where did he run? Edgewater? if so, thats where i usually go. that time seems pretty crazy esp since the track just opened

I am the person he is talking about and I would like to make some corrections on that post. I have what he posted along with a DC 4-1 header and JG 65mm throttle body and the rear portion stripped. The 60' was 1.6 not 1.5. And I ran consistant 14.2's not mid 14's. Please excuse my friends stupidity and yes it was at edgewater in the right lane which was consistantly hooking up very very well with every car that lined up in that lane.

And additionally my other friend with a civic ex with h22a with exhaust, intake, no cat and stripped was running consistant 14.0's and then ran a 13.5 once with a 1.7 60' , about 4 runs after my run.

 

You tripped the lights with your rear tires. I ran a 14.2 doing so one time, had a .677 60ft h:.

 

but the kid with the h22a's his header is really close to the ground so there for it could have been his header he staged on

 

13.6 + Gsr =

 

13.6 on an N/A GS-R with a few mods? No way.

 

hahaha, YEAH RIGHT. I guarantee that there was a malfunction with the timing system because a 1.6 60' on a gsr on street tires, even with a decent amount of bolt ons, is UNHEARD OF.

You'd be lucky if you could get your 60' down to 2 seconds flat, let alone 1.6.

 

I know the person that ran the 13.6 i saw him run it and theres no way in hell he did it. He just likes being a dousche and tries to rub it in that he did that even though he knows he didnt run that time. but for the 14.2, i witnessed that and that time was correct. if im not mistaken he did that with a 2.1 60' which i dont think could be improved on at all.
