im new to the new look of HA.N. i had a different account before, but with the name was silly, and i wasn't taken to seriously. so i started fresh.

anyway, i have a 95 ls that is coming up on 80k in about 9 miles. is there a major service at that? what can i expect when i go in?

Your last maintenance should have been at 75k miles which included the following:

• Replace engine oil
• Replace engine oil filter
• Replace engine coolant
• Inspect front and rear brakes
• Check parking brake adjustment
• Rotate tires

Visually inspect the following items

• Tie-rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
• Suspension components
• Driveshaft boots
• Brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
• All fluid levels and condition of fluid
• Cooling system hoses and connections
• Exhaust system
• Fuel lines and connections

Your next service interval is at 90k and will include the following:

• Replace engine oil
• Replace engine oil filter
• Replace air cleaner element
• Inspect valve clearance
• Replace spark plugs
• Inspect and adjust drive belts
• Replace transmission fluid
• Inspect front and rear brakes
• Replace brake fluid
• Check parking brake adjustment
• Rotate tires

Visually inspect the following items

• Tie-rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
• Suspension components
• Driveshaft boots
• Brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
• All fluid levels and condition of fluid
• Cooling system hoses and connections
• Exhaust system
• Fuel lines and connections

 

Another common maintenance item at 90K is the replacement of the Timing belt and waterpump.
