I been racing Mustang for a while but no one will race a V-8 so I'm thinking about buying a 1993 Acura GSR Integra to run with the 4 banger guys. I'm new to imports and was wondering if this is a motor you could build to compete with people on the street and is it even worth it?

Yes, a '92-93 GS-R will still hold it's own. It has a good body, and the B17A1 engine is a decently peppy one- an uncommon 1.7l version of the famous 1.6l B16A.

They're rare, too, so I hope you have a good deal on one.

93 GSR's are tight, but i'd still in the end prefer a nicer lookin 98+, but then again, it all depends on your budget.

I doubt you'll find a 93 GSR as it is anyway

the b17a1 like the b18c1 has great potential. Although it does have less torque than the b18c1, it is a quick car.

There were a total of maybe 3000 to 3500 '92-'93 GSRs made. Good luck finding one, but if you do it's a nice place to start. It has some assorted nice touches aside from the motor which were not available on the non-VTEC models: adjustable side bolsters in the seats, painted side moldings and front lip instead of flat black plastic, and the 3rd brake light is mounted in the rear spoiler instead of in the top of the rear windshield.

did the G2 GSR come with Recaro-made front seats? I friend of mine in Toronto has a G2 GSR and his have Recaro stitched into the fabric.

Mine didn't say Recaro on them. They were the same as the regular Integra seats of the era just the driver's seat had a knob to adjust how far apart the side bolsters were.

My friend owns a 93 Milano Red GSR. The Gen 2 GSR motor, I think has a lot of potential. I'd prefer it over the B18C1, because of the gay dual intake manifold setup on the B18C1. Plus, the Gen2 GSR has no OBD bullshit.

MrFatBooty, don't forget the side moldings on the Gen 2 have VTEC printed on the side instead of the DOHC. Also, most of the GSR's had center arm rests.
