I've got a '97 LS that as of October, has been making a ton of noise. My boyfriend and I finally figured out that it was the heat shields going crazy when I hit either 1700 or around 3000 RPMs...which of course is all the damn time. I got new headers as of December and once we put them in, the shields were going nuts! We've managed to quiet it with a clamp in the meantime...but is this just my luck or is this a regular problem with Hondas?

 

i had the same problem with my 91 hatch. i just ripped it off on this one. on my 88 i clamped it...it worked for a while but then started makin some noise again

 

The good ol' heatshield problem that we've all had. More often it happends to GSR users, but yea...

Just take the heatshield off, it wont harm anything - keep it just in case you decide to get paranoid and want to put it back on - but for now, take it off and be happy you have no noise.

That's all. Simple.

 

Yeeep. That and noisy injectors are the two most common annoyances for Integra owners. Strip em out!

 

I had that problom, I just used a clamp on each end of the sheald and hasn't bothered me since.

heat shields don't do jack, get rid of them :woowoo:
