You fail to realize, an LS/VTEC hybrid is worthless if you only rev it to the stock B18A/B redline. You need to build it to rev higher before you can make any worthwhile power out of it.

you won't have a reliable setup for $1000. there's a bit more involved than just bolting on a B16 head. for my CR/VTEC setup, I had to use GS-R water pump, oil pump, timing belt, and other various things. also, I advise you have everything professionally cleaned. this is about the time where you think about what you want out of the motor. get a set of ARP rod bolts at the least. the oil passage in the head needs to be plugged up and external oil line will need to be run. hope some of this helps.
