is it a good idea to change em for a new set? will i need to? my 95 gsr has 85,000 miles..slight noise only in the mornings only when its really freakin cold outside for about 3 seconds..i live in chicago..i just bought it and i know the previous owner drove it hard..there some cheap ass oil in there right now..i think from murrays auto parts and a no name filter..should i change over to synthetic? before i do the drastic rod bearings...thanks!

Change to 5W-30, maybe you have thick oil in their to hide engine problems.
depending on the weather out there u might need synthetic oil but not to get ride of the noise......rod bearings as hammer said is only if u rebuild ur motor or ur motor spun a bearing which is unlikely unless dude that sold it to u didnt tell u this....plus it would probably knock if u did.
